Watermelon Sangria 23 August 2021 This delicious sangria embodies summer — and it’s perfect for a barbecue. Prep Time: 15 minutes Total Time: 15 minutes (+ 1 hour chilling time) Serves: 10 INGREDIENTS 1 (750 mL) bottle Matua Sauvignon Blanc 6 cups cubed watermelon 3/4 cup vodka 1/2 cup simple syrup 1/3 cup fresh lime juice Ice cubes Lime rounds INSTRUCTIONS Shake all ingredients in a Boston glass (except passionfruit pulp), strain into a tall glass full of ice and passionfruit. Garnish with a slice or two of lime. In blender, purée watermelon. In large bowl or serving vessel, combine wine, puréed watermelon, vodka, simple syrup and lime juice. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour or until chilled. To serve, fill glasses with ice cubes; divide sangria among glasses. Garnish with lime rounds. TIPS Transform the watermelon into a pitcher! Just slice one-third off the top; scoop out the watermelon pulp, then transfer the chilled mixture into the watermelon. Serve with a ladle!
