Matua goes volunteering to help local community and coastlines

Here at Matua, we know how special it is to live and work in a beautiful, clean environment. Everyone should be able to enjoy our stunning New Zealand coastlines safely and sustainably. We’re also keen to give back to those in our local community that need a little helping hand.

We’ve been helping out in the community for a while now - starting with Bill Spence being instumental in creating the Vintners Brunch to raise funds for the North Shore Hospice and Matua sponsoring the Muriwai Surf Club. But this year is the first time we’ve put all our efforts into one week.

More than 200 of us headed off to do our bit with charities across NZ, including the Muriwai Environment Trust, Motutapu Restoration Trust, the Department of Conservation, Keep Waitakere Beautiful and the Auckland City Mission.

And you know what? It feels pretty good to see your hard work helping to revitalise native forest or feed families that are struggling to put food on the table.

The charities that we helped for Volunteer Week are always on the lookout for enthusiastic helpers, so read on for information about each charity and what you can get up to.
